Book Recommendations - Favorites

This is a blog with my favorite books. If you haven't read them, I highly recommend them. Depending on your taste, I hope you can find something you like, but if you are open to reading anything, check them out all! Also, note this list may be updated as I get more favorites.

Also, thank you to everyone who suggested ideas for my next blog on Instagram. This blog is one of your suggestions!

  1. And the Mountains Echoed - Khaled Hosseini. This is a book that will make you cry, a powerful story of siblinghood, literally capturing the love between a brother and a sister through a beautiful journey that will take away your breath. You have to read this book. JUST READ IT.

  2. Beloved - Toni Morrison. A book in the aftermath of the American Civil War. "It tells the story of a family of former slaves whose Cincinnati home is haunted by a malevolent spirit."

  3. The Dinner - Herman Koch. This book is not for everyone... The whole story happens over dinner, and it may seem boring or impossible to think that a book can keep you interested over "one scene," but trust me, I have never read a book faster. You will not be able to put this book down... Just know that it will surprise you, challenge you, and raise a few questions.

  4. Jeffrey Siger series starting with Murder in Mykonos. His books are about murder mysteries in beautiful parts of Greece. He paints the country in a realistic light, helps you travel to unique destinations, and uncover the villains.

  5. Gone with the Wind - Margaret Mitchell. A classic about the civil war and love .... and much more.

  6. All the Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr. During WWII, a blind French girl meets a German boy... This book is full of emotion and the power of human connection. It will restore your faith in humanity.

  7. Storm Front - Jim Butcher. This is a series. I just ordered the second book. This is about a magician, a very witty and entertaining one who tries to solve a serious crime. It combines elements of reality with magic. You have to like both strong crime scenes and the magical to enjoy it.

E.K.
